Today the U.S. Advanced Aerobatic Team, led by team manager Mike Heuer, officially withdrew from the 2021 World Advanced Aerobatic Championships.
 
"The USA's support for international aerobatic competition is unwavering, but the international sanctioning body, CIVA, came up with a plan that was entirely incompatible with the needs of the U.S. Team," said IAC President Jim Bourke. Celebrate aerobatic flight on Saturday, June 26, during the inaugural National Aerobatics Day!

National Aerobatics Day is the perfect day to host an aerobatic camp, a BBQ, a practice session, or to share videos of aerobatic activity online. With over 40 chapters nationwide and two international chapters, IAC members are organizing these types of activities and others to engage the public and general aviation pilots in aerobatics.

We must announce with great regret that 14th FAI World Advanced Aerobatic Championship 2021, Hosín, Czech Republic is canceled.

The reason for the cancelation is the inability of Aeroclub of the Czech Republic as NAC and its Executive Board to keep up to commitments with FAI and sign the Organizer Agreement. Even though the Local Organizer of WAAC continuously and clearly declares its own commitment to organize the Event and CIVA/FAI in good faith expects that commitment will be fulfilled.…

Who should register? Pilots competing in the championships and all volunteers. Volunteers include any of our pre-planning group, judges, assistant judges, boundary judges, recorders and office helpers at registration or scoring.

The U.S. Advanced Aerobatic Team, gathered again this week in Union City, Tennessee for a week of training under Rob Holland's direction. That said, we are sad to announce that some of our pilots have made the difficult decision not to travel to the Czech Republic for the World Advanced Aerobatic Championships which is scheduled for 14-24 July 2021. At the IAC’s Member Gathering at AirVenture this year, 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, July 30 at the Pober Pixie Tent in EAA's Nature Center, we’re planning a full dinner. The IAC holds annual elections for its officers and directors with the help of volunteers who provide support in the nomination and election processes. DJ Molny is currently the IAC Ballot Certification Chair. Recently DJ was appointed the Judge Program Chair, which is keeping him busy. He would like to open up an opportunity to train a replacement volunteer on the ballot certification committee this year so a new chair will be ready to take on the task without him in 2022.
