We have just received a file with all of the 7 Free Unknown sequences that will be flown by the pilots in Programme 3 at the World Aerobatic Championships now in progress in Chateauroux, France.  The US Team pilots will fly sequence "J".  Altogether, 14 sequences were submitted by the teams but in the end, only 7 are being used by the pilots.  Flying was called off today due to high wind but it appears the contest will resume tomorrow.  The Free Programme (Programme 2) is not yet complete.  Results can be found at http://www....

We ran out of some items at AirVenture and those are on order and will be in stock in a few weeks -- including our incredibly popular Pitts Anniversary t-shirts and caps. After each IAC election, the President reviews who has joined the IAC Board and who should be assigned what region.  These Directors have been assigned the following Regions:

  • Mike Rinker (Southeast)*
  • Bruce Ballew (Mid America)
  • Tim Just (Southwest)*
  • Rob Holland (Northeast)
  • Doug Lovell (South Central)
  • Debby Rihn-Harvey (International)
  • Michael Steveson (Northwest)*

The Directors with asterisks (*) represent changes to the representative for that IAC Region.

The US Unlimited Aerobatic Team is now in place in Albert, France and they pose here with their aircraft in a photo taken this evening, Monday, August 3rd, after what was undoubtedly a long day. Some of the airplanes made the long journey across the Atlantic in a container or were sent over onboard cargo aircraft.  With their coach, Coco Bessiere, there with them it promises to be a productive and intense two weeks before they move to the contest site in Chateauroux on August 16th.  Updates as we receive them.

US Unlimited Team pilots Goody Thomas, Jeff Boerboon, and Ben Freelove are now in Albert, France after arriving in Europe on June 29th.  Three of the team airplanes have arrived by container -- Goody's Extra 330SC, Jeff's Extra 330SC, and Brett's MX.  They are now being assembled in Albert, where the team will practice over the next couple of weeks before proceeding to the WAC contest site in Chateauroux.  The 28th FAI World Aerobatic Championships begins on August 20th but the team will arrive a few days beforehand to get practice in the actual contest box.  Goody reports everyone in...
