IAC still $4,000 Short of Annual Goal

Since October 20, IAC members and friends have moved us toward a fundraising goal of $20,000 by contributing $16,000. Please contribute today and help us reach our goal.

At the CIVA Plenary meeting in November, Peggy Riedinger, IAC 433547, was chosen as a judge for the 2021 European Aerobatic Championships.  The championships take place August 21 to August 27 with the final Freestyle to be run on August 28, 2021. The EAC was cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-19 and was moved forward a year. The event will remain in the original host country of Czech Republic to take place at Breclav Airfield (LKBA) Letiště.

At its Fall Meeting on Saturday, November 14, 2020, the IAC Board of Directors considered the edited and revised Policy & Procedure section 504, which offers updated procedures for US aerobatic team selection. 2020 was an unusual contest season to say the least. With 29 contests scheduled and only 8 contests held successfully it looked as if no region would be able to meet the criteria for pilots to fly three contests in their region during 2020.

The start of the season saw many contests canceling and then July rolled around and suddenly the dry spell was broken. IAC Chapter 12 held the High Planes Hotpoxia Fest and there was a glimmer of hope that the Regional Series would still be possible.

The purposed known sequences for 2021 were presented at the IAC fall board meeting by Sequence program chair Michael Lents on November 14. The board approved the Primary sequence, which was not changed from the previous year, the Sportsman sequence and the Advanced sequence. The Intermediate power sequence was sent back to revise by adding a snap roll. The glider sequences will be presented at a later date.
