At the IAC’s fall board meeting, November 12, the contest director and the location and dates of the 2022 U.S. National Aerobatics Championships were approved by the IAC board of directors. Mike Heuer IAC #4 was approved as contest director and the U.S. Nationals will once again be held in Salina, Kansas on October 2-7, 2022.

Mike’s aerobatic career started in 1965 when he attended the Antique Airplane Association’s annual fly-in in Ottumwa, Iowa and witnessed one of the few aerobatic contests that were in existence at that time. It spurred him on to learn…

Another year has come to a close, and your Chapter Insurance policy renewal is underway. We wanted to make you aware that there will be a slight change in how your Chapter Insurance policy extends to IAC practice days and IAC Aerobatic Contests. With this renewal, the liability limit that you choose for your Chapter Insurance policy will also be the limit of liability coverage that extends to IAC practice days and contests. The IAC board met in Oshkosh on November 12 and 13 for its annual fall meeting. In his Sequence Committee report for the Fall Board meeting, Chair Michael Lents requested the board select a new Sequence Committee Chair. Because of his own workload and coaching schedule, he finds that he does not have the time required to administer the program. Michael is very willing to train his successor and is currently involved with compiling comments from the IAC membership on the proposed 2022 Knowns.

Congratulations to IAC vice president and 10-time national aerobatic champion Rob Holland, who was announced this week as one of three new honorary members of the First Flight Society based at Kitty Hawk, N.C. The program highlights those who have achieved national recognition in aviation. Rob and other honorees will be recognized at the Wright brothers observance in Kitty Hawk next month.
