The Rules Committee finalized its work on the proposed Known sequences for 2015 and sent its report to the IAC President on Wednesday, October 15th.  Their report is attached here for download in PDF format.

Members are invited to send their comments on these proposals to the IAC Directors who represent their region.  A list of those Directors and their contact information is also attached below as a PDF for download. 

The Board of Directors will meet in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on 12-13 November and vote on the Knowns. Those sequences will go into effect for the 2015 contest…

The deadline for rules proposals for the 2015 contest year was September 1st and since that date, the IAC Rules Committee, under the direction of Chairman Brian Howard, has been busy reviewing the proposals, voting, and preparing their final recommendations to the Board of Directors.

The dates for next year's US National Aerobatic Championships have been set. The competition will begin on Sunday, September 20th and will go through the following Friday, September 25th. The awards ceremony and closing banquet will be Friday night as has been the tradition.

The 2015 Championships will feature all categories of competition in power and glider aerobatics -- Primary through Unlimited -- and the selection of the 2016 US Advanced Aerobatic Team.

The filming at Nationals was done this year by Matt Ulrich. Matt did double-duty this year as he was also responsible for filming all the Unlimited flight programs at the Chief Judge's station for video review. CIVA has published the Known proposals for the 2015 competition season for Advanced and Unlimited Power; Yak-52/Intermediate category; and Advanced and Unlimited Glider Championships. The deadline for proposals was 15 September. The sequences were checked and de-identified by IAC Rules Chairman and CIVA Judging Sub-Committee member Brian Howard of Tucson, Arizona prior to their publication in a single document. The document was distributed to CIVA Delegates on 4 October 2014 by Mike Heuer, CIVA's Rules Sub-Committee Chairman.

On hand at the US National Aerobatic Championships this year was one of aviation's best photographers -- Evan Peers of Air Space Media from San Carlos, California.  Evan had made arrangements with IAC to attend the event for the first time and was busy throughout the week with photographing the event and also staging the group photo of the new US Unlimited Aerobatic Team.

The deadline for the submission of rules proposals and Known sequences for the 2015 contest year has now passed (September 1st) and a document that includes these proposals is now available in PDF. 

The rules proposals have been sent to the members of the IAC Rules Committee (RC) which have until mid-October to make their recommendations to Rules Chairman Brian Howard. Once the RC votes on these proposals, the package of recommended rules changes will go to the IAC Board of Directors for its meeting in Oshkosh on 12-13 November.

The last day of the 2014 US National Aerobatic Championships was today -- and it was capped off with the beautiful and always anticipated Four Minute Freestyle flights by six Unlimited pilots.  The contest finished before noon.
