The final scores have been tabulated for the 2018 regional series competition. Fifty-seven (57) pilots successfully competed at three or more contests needed to qualify for the series and place in the top three in their category for their respective region.

The regional series began in 2002. To be eligible, a pilot must fly at least three contests during the year and one contest may include the U.S. Nationals. The IAC Executive Committee has appointed a working group to incorporate the Rule Proposals that were approved at the November 2018 Fall Board meeting. 
 
The working group is anticipated to complete the 2019 Rule Book well before the first Judge's School in February. The tentative release date is January 31, 2019. If there are changes or further developments  to the intended release date, news will be posted to the IAC website.

The World Advanced Aerobatic Championships are headed back to the USA in 2022 after CIVA delegates accepted a bid from the International Aerobatic Club and IAC Chapter 12 to host the 15th biennial event. Dates are set for October 11-22, 2022.
 
Duncan Koerbel, IAC 437649 and President of IAC Chapter 12, attended the CIVA plenary in Warsaw, Poland on November 10 to present the bid. On November 8, 2018 at the EAA Halls of Fame Banquet, longstanding IAC member Tom Adams was inducted into the IAC Hall of Fame.

Adams (IAC 1999) learned to fly by training with his father and helped pay for college by dusting crops in a 450 Stearman. He served in the Marine Aviation Cadet program in Pensacola, flying A-4D Skyhawks, and eventually began a 32-year career with Northwest Airlines. Adams retired as a captain on the 747-400 after logging time in more than 100 different aircraft types.
