Adams (IAC 1999) learned to fly by training with his father and helped pay for college by dusting crops in a 450 Stearman. He served in the Marine Aviation Cadet program in Pensacola, flying A-4D Skyhawks, and eventually began a 32-year career with Northwest Airlines. Adams retired as a captain on the 747-400 after logging time in more than 100 different aircraft types.

Read moreThis year 22 proposals, evaluated by the eight member Rules Committee, were recommended to the IAC Board of Directors for adoption into the 2019 Rule Book, and an additional three rules proposals were conditionally recommended if indicated changes were included. Of these, 11 were approved. Approved proposals have been sent back to the Rules Committee for inclusion in the 2019 IAC Rulebook.
