Grass Roots Flight Medal Award: Jim Klick

We had a great contest this year!!!! The weather was fantastic, which contributed to every category flying 3 times fro a complete contest. In addition, we had a great group of competitors. We ended the practice session with pizza and refreshments. We finished both flights for all competitors about 7:00 pm, which was followed by a wonderful steak barbeque prepared by Sandy and Sue Saporin. Sunday kicked off with the brief at 7:30 am, and planes in the air by 8:30 am. The contest was complete around 1:30 pm. The awards ceremony took place, and the pilots were on their way by 2:30 pm.

This was one of the smoothest contests ever because everybody volunteered throughout the entire contest. Furthermore, friends and family of the competitors gave all of their support filling in where ever we needed people. Also the members, and their families of EAA Chapter 304 stepped up bigger than ever. We were fortunate to have Danny Adams from Aviat to support us. Danny kept busy all Friday and Saturday answering questions and helping with everyone’s aircraft, Pitts or not. Along with the planning staff of this competition, I want to thank all of these people. This was your contest and you made it great! Thanks to all.
