The US Unlimited Aerobatic Team is now in place in Albert, France and they pose here with their aircraft in a photo taken this evening, Monday, August 3rd, after what was undoubtedly a long day. Some of the airplanes made the long journey across the Atlantic in a container or were sent over onboard cargo aircraft.  With their coach, Coco Bessiere, there with them it promises to be a productive and intense two weeks before they move to the contest site in Chateauroux on August 16th.  Updates as we receive them.

US Unlimited Team pilots Goody Thomas, Jeff Boerboon, and Ben Freelove are now in Albert, France after arriving in Europe on June 29th.  Three of the team airplanes have arrived by container -- Goody's Extra 330SC, Jeff's Extra 330SC, and Brett's MX.  They are now being assembled in Albert, where the team will practice over the next couple of weeks before proceeding to the WAC contest site in Chateauroux.  The 28th FAI World Aerobatic Championships begins on August 20th but the team will arrive a few days beforehand to get practice in the actual contest box.  Goody reports everyone in…

Each year, the membership of the IAC nominates outstanding volunteers to be recognized for their contribution to the sport of aerobatics. The award winners are selected by a secret ballot of the IAC Board of Directors and the recipients were announced at the IAC annual gathering on Friday evening, July 24 in Oshkosh, WI at AirVenture.

The Chairman of the IAC Ballot Certification Committee, DJ Molny, announced the results of the 2015 IAC Election at the IAC Annual Membership Meeting in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on July 24, 2015. 

234 members cast their ballots electronically in the election.  The results were as follows:

  • Vice President -- Doug McConnell (210 votes)
  • Treasurer -- Bob Hart (221 votes)

Directors:

  • Michael Steveson (192 votes)
  • Bruce Ballew (210 votes)
  • Tim Just (214 votes)
  • Mike Rinker (204 votes)
