The IAC Board of Directors will hold its Fall meeting at the EAA AirVenture Museum and Headquarters on Wednesday and Thursday, November 4-5, 2015.  The meetings will begin at 8:30 am and last the full days.

The Board will be acting on a number of important issues at this meeting including:

• Contest rules changes for 2016
• Fiscal Year 2017 Budget
• IAC Activities at EAA AirVenture 2016
• US National Aerobatic Championships 2016
• Review of IAC Programs and Activities
• US Aerobatic Team Efforts in 2016

Congratulations to the individuals on the following page who have applied for and received Achievement Awards from flying in a non-contest environment (Smooth Achievement) or at contest (Stars Achievement) in the third quarter of 2015.

As a reminder, First time Primary or Sportsman Stars or Smooth Award Applicant will receive their first award patch for free. Applicants for Glider or Power Primary or Sportsman Achievement Awards should fill out an application and only send payment for additional patches, pins or decals. IAC Rules Committee Chairman Brian Howard has just released the report of the IAC Rules Committee that deals with the proposals submitted by members this year for consideration and possible adoption into our 2016 IAC Official Contest Rules.  Deadline for rules proposals was 1 July 2015.  The document is attached below as a PDF.

The Rules Committee reviewed all of the proposals and voted on whether to send them to the Board or to reject the proposals. Those which were not adopted by the Rules Committee are attached as an appendix to the report with the rationale for their rejection…

U.S. National Aerobatic Championships - September 20-26, 2015
Over 90 Glider and Power pilots are registered to compete at this year's Nationals.  18 Advanced pilots have declared their intentions to fly for US Advanced Team selection.

IAC has just released the document compiling all of the rules proposals made by our members to the Rules Committee for 2016. The committee is in the process of reviewing and commenting on all 18 of the proposals as of this writing.  Click here to view the document.

Once the Rules Committee completes its discussion and voting, the final recommendations of the committee will be published in a separate document which will go to the Board of Directors for consideration at its meeting in Oshkosh…

United States National Aerobatic Champion and US Team pilot Rob Holland won the Gold today in the "Final Freestyle" at the World Championships -- the Four Minute Free as it is known in the USA.  Fourteen pilots flew in this final programme of the 28th WAC this morning prior to the huge airshow that was staged at the Chateauroux, France airfield which has served as home for the WAC over the past couple of weeks.

This was Holland's third consecutive victory in this program at which he really excels and scored almost 300 points ahead of the second place pilot, Martin Sonka of the Czech…

The 28th FAI World Aerobatic Championships has concluded in Chateauroux, France with the Final Freestyles (Four Minute program) flown today followed by an airshow. 

Alexandre Orlowski of France is the new Overall World Aerobatic Champion, taking home the prestigious Aresti Cup.  Alexandre's rise in aerobatics has been meteoric.  A French Air Force pilot flying with the EVAA (France's military pilot group flying in FAI Aerobatic Championships), he is qualified in the Mirage 2000 and Alpha Jet.
