The IAC Board of Directors met at EAA Headquarters in Oshkosh, WI on Friday, October 17, 2024. This is a brief summary of the decisions made at the meeting.
Fundraising
- Executive director Tim Dahnke to post on the website a notice for members who would like to be on an IAC fundraising committee.
- Create a more prominent Join button on the IAC home page.
- Add a prominent button to donate on the IAC homepage.
- Add prominent Join and Donate buttons to all IAC social media including In the loop.
Editor Retires
Jim Bourke submitted Lorrie Penner's Resignation (Retirement) letter to the board. To cover some of the editor's duties, an interim contract person, Jackson Halsmer, will be taking over social media posting while the IAC is looking for a permanent replacement.
The Executive Director will survey the membership to determine what effect moving to a digital magazine will have on the membership levels.
National Aerobatic Championships
- The 2025 National Aerobatic Championships will be held in Salina, Kansas from
September 21 to 26. - The 2025 IAC Advanced and Unlimited Glider National Championships will once again be
held separately at Estrella Sailport in Maricopa, Arizona March 20 - 22, 2025. - Shad Coulson will return as Contest Director for both championships.
Known Sequences
The board reviewed each Known Sequence Proposal presented by the Sequence Committee.
The following decisions were made:
- Power Primary: unchanged from 2024.
- Power Sportsman: Adopted.
- Power Intermediate: Adopted.
- Power Advanced: Adopted.
- Power Unlimited: Adopted.
- Glider Primary: Adopted.
- Glider Sportsman: Adopted.
- Glider Intermediate: Adopted.
- Glider Advanced: Adopted.
- Glider Unlimited: Adopted.

Eighteen (18) rule changes were proposed by members for possible inclusion in the 2025 book. The board reviewed each proposal and made the following decisions. Please note that an additional change proposal was generated because of an issue that arose at the 2024 U.S. Nationals contest: 2025-N19 was rejected.

East and West Coast Open Championships
Every year it is hard to find those interested in hosting. The numbers do not show that
the championships add to the increase of attendees. A motion was approved to discontinue the IAC East and West Coast Open Championships.
U.S. Advanced Aerobatic Team
The 2025 U.S. Advanced manager will be MaryBeth Rudd and Craig Gifford the team coach.
Spring Board meeting date
Set the date for the IAC Spring Board meeting to the Tuesday following the EAA Spring Board meeting.
