Scores for the 2003 Regional Championship Series have been tabulated by Tom Myers, the official scorekeeper for the series.

The Regional Championship Series began in 2002 and continues to grow in participation according to IAC Executive Director Lisa Popp. “In 2003, 80 members participated in the series, up from 60 in 2002.”

Jose Louis de Aresti Aguirre, widely known within the aerobatic community and member of the International Aerobatic Club (IAC) Hall of Fame, passed away on November 18 in Madrid, Spain at the age of 84.

Aresti was most widely known for his work in developing the aerocryptographic system, or shorthand, for recording aerobatic maneuvers, more commonly known as the “Sistema Aresti” or Aresti System. President of CIVA

In November of each year, the International Aerobatics Commission (CIVA) meets to review proposals from national aero clubs and to plan the future of aerobatics worldwide. CIVA is part of the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale, the world governing body for all air sports.
