This year, CIVA implements its new rules on "Free Known" programs for the World Advanced Aerobatic Championships in Poland and the World Glider Aerobatic Championships (Unlimited and Advanced) in Hungary. Selection of a US Unlimited Aerobatic Team (Power) and US Glider Aerobatic Teams (Advanced and Unlimited) will be carried out at this year's US National Aerobatic Championships in Sherman/Denison, Texas.

Deadline for the submission of Nominating Petitions for IAC officer and director positions is April 6, 2016.

The offices of President, Secretary, and three (3) Director positions are up for election this year. Electronic balloting will begin soon after the nominations close and will run up until the week of EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh. The results of the election will be announced at the IAC Annual Membership meeting in Oshkosh that week.

Our best wishes to everyone for 2016 -- we look forward to a successful, challenging, and fun year. There will be a full calendar of regional competitions, IAC will feature its "Grass Roots to the Top of the World" theme at EAA AirVenture this year, and the season will culminate in the US National Aerobatic Championships in Texas in September.

Our thanks to all of the wonderful volunteers throughout the country who make IAC's programs and activities possible.

The aerobatics portion of the World Air Games has now been completed and US National Aerobatic Champion Rob Holland (shown below) brings home a Bronze medal for his third place finish overall. The powered aerobatics pilots flew a Known, Free, Free Unknown, and 4 Minute Freestyle and unlike classical competitions like WAC, the 4 Minute was counted in the final results.

Not to be outdone, however, Holland once again proved his skill and prowess in the 4 Minute Freestyle, winning the event and bringing home Gold.  He competed in Dubai with three consecutive wins of the Freestyle at the…
