Donald Bernard DeWitt was born on September 18, 1942 in Ponca City, 
Oklahoma, to Bernard & Alice DeWitt. He joined his brother, Richard, 
while his father was a flight instructor for Royal Air Force pilots during WWII. 
The family returned to Palos Heights, IL where his sister, Diane DeWitt (Asheville, NC), joined them. Both of his parents were pilots and the whole family flew together out of Howell Airport in Crestwood, IL.

The IAC Board of Directors met at EAA Headquarters in Oshkosh, WI on Friday, November 10
and 11, 2023. This is a brief summary of the decisions made at the meeting.

Contest Sanction Fee
The contest sanction fee is increasing from $55 per pilot to $65 per pilot to adjust for inflation.
The previous increase was over 10 years ago, and the actual inflation-adjustment amount
would be $75.

At their meeting in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on November 11-12, the IAC board of directors approved the Rule Proposals as recommended by the Rules Committee:

  • Barrett Hines, Chair
  • Jim Bourke, IAC president
  • Mike Gallaway, CIVA Delegate
  • DJ Molny, Judge Program Chair
  • Shad Coulson, Glider Aerobatics Chair
