CIVA Plenary to be held via Video Conference November 19-21

The international governing body for aerobatic competition, FAI Aerobatics Commission (CIVA), has announced that their next meeting will be on November 19-21. The meeting was originally planned to be held as a face-to-face meeting in Dallas, Texas, however CIVA has announced that due to travel complications the meeting this fall will take place online. 2022 U.S. National Aerobatic Championships dates

The U.S. Nationals are typically held in the last week of September. The Salina Airport Authority (SAA) has let the IAC leadership know that there will be military operations the last week of September in 2022, therefore making the venue unavailable for the U.S. Nationals that week.

For those who like to plan ahead or needing to bid vacation a year in advance, SAA has confirmed Hangar 606 is available for the U.S. Nationals a week later;

2022 Rule Proposals Posted for member Comment

The submission deadline for IAC members to propose changes to the IAC Official Contest Rules for the 2022 contest season was July 1st. These proposals have now been compiled by IAC Rules Chair Barrett Hines. A total of 44 unique (a few were the same) proposals from the membership were received. A PDF with all of the rule proposals is available for download below. Although organized some to assist with their evaluation, these are essentially as received.

CD posts Bulletin no.1 for U.S. Nationals

In less than two weeks the volunteers of the IAC will start to assemble in Salina, Kansas to prepare the grounds for the 2021 U.S. National Aerobatic Championships. Contest dates are September 19-24. The purpose of Bulletin #1 is to highlight some areas of interest to the pilots competing at the event.

2021 IAC Hall of Fame Recipient is Kirby Chambliss

The International Aerobatic Hall of Fame was formed in 1986 to give appropriate recognition to those who have made a significant contribution to aerobatics. This year the IAC Hall of Fame committee led by Chairman David Martin, with unanimous approval of the IAC board of directors, has announced the 2021 IAC Hall of Fame Recipient is Kirby Chambliss.
