IAC's Ballot Certification Committee chair, Lynne Stoltenberg, has certified these results for the club's 2013 board election:

Member adoption of the board-proposed changes to IAC's Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws will be decided on November 13 and reported shortly thereafter on the IAC website.

The 2013 U.S. National Aerobatic Championships is underway at the North Texas Regional Airport in Denison, Texas.  Over one hundred competitors are flying in all power and glider categories.  Excellent weather prevails and is forecast to do so through the conclusion of the contest.

The first annual Aerobatic Flight Instructor Scholarship was presented at the IAC membership gathering on Friday Aug. 3rd at Airventure. Honored with being the first recipient was Alexander Sachs of Oregon, Wisconsin. Alex is a Certified Flight Instructor currently enrolled in the University of North Dakota’s Aeronautics program and is expecting to earn his bachelors degree in May of 2014. He persues aerobatics by participating in competition aerobatics with the UND IAC Collegiate National Championship aerobatic team. Congratulations to Catherine Marx this year’s winner of the CP Aviation Emergency Maneuver Training Scholarship.

This Scholarship is given each year in memory of Vicki Cruse by CP Aviation.  This year there is an additional bonus of $2,000 to be used for transportation and lodging given in memory of Danny Franscioni. 

Catherine lives in Arkansas and admits that she hates stalls but really wants to like them.  It will be interesting to see what she thinks of them after completing the course.

One of three boxes containing ballots and proxy cards disappeared during shipment from IAC headquarters to IAC's Nominations and Ballot Certification chair.  As a result, the IAC board has decided to rerun the election.

Directors and officers normally installed at the annual membership meeting at AirVenture will instead take office immediately upon completion of the election in mid-October.  Meanwhile, current directors and officers will continue to serve.
