The IAC Rule Book "Refactoring" team has just released the new IAC rule book!  Please help the rule book team out by carefully reviewing the text for errors.  This new rule book says 2020 but should be a match for the rules we used in 2019.  The rule change proposals accepted by the board at the fall meeting will be incorporated after the expiration of the member comment period.
The refactoring team whittled our 269 page book down to just under 100 pages!

Stephen Kurtzahn will be joining the EAA/IAC team on Monday, October 28th as the new IAC Executive Director.  Steve will have responsibility over all IAC operations; including managing events such as the IAC presence at AirVenture and the U.S. National Aerobatic Championships. In the role, he will enjoy interacting with the IAC Board of Directors and building support for the IAC membership and IAC chapters while continuing to grow the relationship between IAC and EAA.

John Morrissey has been selected by the IAC Hall of Fame committee and the Board of Directors to be inducted into the International Aerobatic Hall of Fame. The official ceremonies will take place in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on Thursday, November 7, 2019.

On Sept. 11, the announcement below was posted to the Latest News page on IAC.org announcing that 29 rules change proposals have been received for our 2020 IAC Contest Rules book. I think it's actually 27 rules (a couple of identical proposals were consolidated). We're asking for comments from the membership, and the due date is Oct. 11, which is coming up shortly.

The organizers have announced that the Mason-Dixon Shoot Out that was to be held on October 11-13, 2019 is canceled. Unfortunately the airport has pushed up the repaving of their runway. The contest will be back next year, so watch the IAC Contest Listing webpage for their dates in 2020.

The deadline for submission for IAC members to propose changes to the IAC Official Contest Rules for the 2020 contest season was July 1st. These proposals have now been compiled by IAC Rules Chair Doug Sowder. Originally a total of 16 proposals from the membership were received and posted this morning. However, a glitch in the email system revealed that there were actually 29 rule proposals.

The 30th FAI 2019 World Aerobatic Championships have ended. The team reports working hard and having a wonderful experience in Châteauroux, France the last week of August.
