A reminder that IAC Scholarship Applications for the IAC CP Aviation Emergency Maneuver Training Scholarship in Memory of Vicki Cruse, Greg Koontz Airshows Aerobatic Instructor Scholarship in Memory of Bobby Younkin, and the Doug Yost Memorial Aerobatic Scholarship Grant are open and must be submitted by Sunday, June 30th. The 2019 IAC Election balloting is now open. IAC members should go to the ballot election page and review the election announcement and the profiles provided by the candidates in accordance with the IAC by-laws. After that review, click on the "cast your vote" link and vote. Balloting closes on Tuesday, July 23 at 6:00 p.m. CDT. Ballots must be received before closing to be counted.

At the IAC Spring Board Meeting on April 30-May 1, 2019 the Board of Directors approved a a motion to create a provisional "legacy" category. The new category is intended to provide a platform for former Advanced and Unlimited pilots who wish to compete while not discouraging lower category pilots by competing with Intermediate pilots in the Intermediate category at regional events. These Legacy pilots should not be regular Advanced and Unlimited pilots simply wishing to back up.

After serving seven years DJ Molny is resigning from his volunteer position as IAC Webmaster. DJ helped the Board in finding his replacement and Brennon York has been approved by the Board of Directors to become the new IAC Webmaster.

By unanimous decision, the IAC Board of Directors approved Michael Lents as the new Sequence Committee Chair effective immediately.
Michael has been competing in the Sportsman thought Advanced levels since 2009 and has been the guiding force and coach of the UND Aerobatic Team since 2008. EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019 will include a full roster of forums at the IAC’s Vicki Cruse Educational Pavilion. The forums are scheduled daily from Tuesday, July 23, through Friday, July 27, 2019, and run for approximately one hour and 15 minutes each. Special guest Richard Giles will give a forum on Wednesday morning about the Giles-200 design and build process as part of the type’s 25th anniversary celebration at AirVenture.
