The proposal for a new category in IAC competition that was discussed during the speaker forums in the IAC pavilion at the last two years of AirVenture now has its own webpage on the IAC website. Click here to view.
Previously called "Project M", the proposed new category is now named Masters. It has a special place in the competition category ranking system because of a few benefits that the IAC community would reap from its implementation:
- Creates more runway for a competition career that does not necessarily seek advanced/unlimited flying as an ultimate goal destination.
- Allows space for legacy aircraft to perform at their own level
- Ties performance to a known capability within a substantial part of the US aerobatic fleet, making competition more accessible, sustainable and engaging to the needs of a broader audience.
