On August 2, 2011 fellow IAC 52 member Jason Flood suffered multiple injuries as a result of a banner towing accident in Egg Harbor Township. Jason has been admitted to Cooper University Medical Center and is listed in critical condition. He has undergone multiple surgeries to date and has many more to come. CP Aviation, Inc. has awarded an Emergency Maneuver Training (EMT) scholarship at CP Aviation, Inc. to an aspiring young pilot, Kelsey Lomen, 18 years old, of Eagle Rock, CA.

The flight school, based in Santa Paula, is known throughout the world for their specialized training curriculum, originally developed in 1987. CP Aviation is the home of two Master CFI-Aerobatics, who have also been awarded National CFI of the Year by the FAA, Rich Stowell (2006), and Judy Phelps (2011).
