The Advanced and Unlimited pilots at Nationals selected their Unknown figures last night at the airport after flying.  The Advanced will fly only one Free Unknown and the Unlimiteds will fly two.  Free Unknown #1 in Unlimited will be flown this morning, Tuesday, September 23rd. 

While the Unlimited pilots have to submit their sequences for the 2nd Free Unknown today -- which will then be checked and posted by the Jury -- the Advanced pilots have more time as their sequences are not due in until tomorrow, Wednesday, September 24th.  They will fly their Free Unknown on Thursday if the…

The sequences for the first Free Unknown in Unlimited are available. Only three were submitted by pilots and can be downloaded below as PDF's.  The filenames identify the sequences as A, B, and C.  However, those letters do not appear on the Forms.

Raw scores appear as long as the results are provisional. Once the protest periods have expired, as the contest progresses, the results will become official and the Fair Play System (FPS) implemented in the score computation.  "Fitted values" then appear on the individual pilots' pages.  You can look at each pilot's scores by clicking on the blue…

The 2014 US National Aerobatic Championships opened today at the North Texas Regional Airport in Sherman/Denison, Texas with the general briefing for all participants and flights in Unlimited category of the Known compulsory.

Altogether, 88 pilots have registered to fly in the event with 12 in Unlimited. These pilots will compete for positions on the US Aerobatic Team that will compete in France in August 2015.

For those IAC members who are serving as National Judges at the US National Aerobatic Championships next week, please note that according to IAC policy, you must attend a Judges Refresher Course at the contest site.  This year's course will be held at 11:30 am, Sunday, September 21st, at the airport.  Just ask any contest official for the exact location.  The course will be administered by Charlie Harrison, Unlimited Chief Judge and judges school instructor.
