The 2022 World Aerobatic Championships opened in Leszno, Poland on Wednesday, August 3.

43 competitors from 14 countries are vying for the title of World Aerobatic Champion. The first flight, Programme P1, was flown by about half the competitors on opening day and the remainder finished up on August 4. Rob Holland currently sits in second place with a score of 83.017% behind the leader Florent Oddon of France with a score of 84.169%. 

In the team results, the French team is in the lead, followed by the U.S. and in third is the team from Spain.

Ten-time US National Aerobatic Champion and five-time World 4 Minute Freestyle Champion Rob Holland Aerosports leads Team USA here at the World Championships where he seeks to add to his Freestyle legacy as well as find a spot on the classical podium with the rest of the US Unlimited Aerobatic Team

The 2022 World Aerobatic Championships have been declared OPEN by Nick Buckenham, CIVA President and IAC member number 16011.

The first preliminary flights are in progress. Out of a field of 43 competitors 10 scores have been posted so far.

THE BEST OF THE BEST - CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2022 US UNLIMITED AEROBATIC TEAM MEMBERS!

The 2022 USA Unlimited Team is composed of Rob Holland (Team Captain),Jeff Boerboon, Jim Bourke, John Wacker, Craig Gifford, Aaron McCartan, and (pictured below) A.J. Wilder. The team manager is Alice Johnson and the team coach is Claude "Coco" Bessiere.

The team will be competing in the World Aerobatic Championships in Leszno, Poland.  The USA will be represented by a group of pilots made up of veterans of the sport and  one newcomer to the team. The majority of the 2022 team pilots have participated in multiple World Aerobatic Championships.
