Site FAQs

General

Q: The menus are all different from the old site and my bookmarks don't work any more. How can I find what I'm looking for?
A: The Search icon at the upper right corner of each page is usually a good place to start. Or explore the red-and-white menu bar at the top of the page.

Q: Where do the cool videos come from?
A: Rob Dumovic captured and edited the videos.

Q: How do I access members-only content?
A: Simply log into the site.

User Accounts

Q: How do I sign up for an account?
A: Only IAC members are permitted to log into the system. Click on Sustain -> Join or Renew to become an IAC member. Once your membership is processed, you will receive an email with instructions on how to log in.

Q: What if I don't know my password?
A: Click the lost password link and follow the instructions to reset your account.

Q: The lost password screen says "not a recognized email address".
A: This will happen if you provided EAA with a different email address when you joined or renewed, or if you did not provide EAA with any email address at all. To update your email address, please use EAA's account management page or call 1-800-564-6322. It will take at least one business day for the updated information to propagate to the IAC web site. If you still can't log in, follow the lost password procedure again using the new email address, or use the Contact Us link for help. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Q: I want to update my profile information, but some of the fields don't allow user input.
A: To modify your basic information (name, email address, postal address, etc.), please use EAA's account management page (requires EAA site login) or call 1-800-564-6322.

Q: I don't have an email account, or don't want to provide my address. Can I still access the members-only section of the site?
A: Yes. Please send us a message containing your name, IAC number, and telephone number using the site contact form. (In the form's email address field, enter help-me@iac.org). We will call you with instructions and walk you through the login process.

Q: Why do some names have the IAC number after them, like John Smith 12345?
A: Our web platform software requires a unique name for every user. We have about sixty members whose first and last names match those of another member, so we use their IAC numbers to distinguish them.

Personal Contact Forms

Q: I want to send a message to another member. Can I do this through the site?
A: Yes. You can click on any highlighted member name (such as a byline), or navigate to www.iac.org/users/first-last (where first and last are the member's first and last names). Then click on the Contact tab.

Q: What if I don't want other members to contact me via the site?
A: To disable your personal contact form:

  • Log into the site, if you're not logged in already
  • Click on your first name, next to the IAC logo at the top of the page
  • Click on the Edit tab
  • Scroll down until you see the Contact settings box
  • Un-check the Personal contact form box
  • Click the Save button at the bottom of the page

Q: Can I get another member's email address or phone number?
A: The site does not display that information for privacy reasons.

Q: I received an abusive message via the site. Can you help?
A: Yes. Please forward the message to webmaster@iac.org, and we will look into it immediately.
