IAC Gathering of Members takes pace tonight at the EAA Nature Center, 6:00-8:00pm. New this year, during the gathering the 2015 Annual Non-Flying Award Recipients will be presented with plaques for the Kathy Jaffe Award, Frank Price Cup, Harold Neumann Trophy, Robert L. Heuer Award and the Curtis Pitts Memorial.

The first planes have arrived in Hoison, Czech Republic on July 17-19. Pilots will be arriving over the next couple days and then Coach Timofeev puts on the spit shine and polish!

Team members will compete at the 12th World Advanced Aerobatic Championship in Radom, Poland from August 4 through August 14.

As a reminder, First time Primary or Sportsman Stars or Smooth Award Applicant will receive their first award patch for free. Robert Armstrong has been selected by the IAC Hall of Fame committee and the Board of Directors to be inducted into the International Aerobatic Hall of Fame for 2016. The official ceremonies will take place in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on November 9, 2016.

Robert Armstrong "blames" his aviation career on the local Athens, Georgia Board of Education.  A junior high school had been built next to the Athens airport just before the family moved to Athens in 1968.  Of course, his parents made Robert attend that school, which lead to him gazing longingly at the airport through the schoolroom…
