United States National Aerobatic Champion and US Team pilot Rob Holland won the Gold today in the "Final Freestyle" at the World Championships -- the Four Minute Free as it is known in the USA. Fourteen pilots flew in this final programme of the 28th WAC this morning prior to the huge airshow that was staged at the Chateauroux, France airfield which has served as home for the WAC over the past couple of weeks.

Read moreWe have just received a file with all of the 7 Free Unknown sequences that will be flown by the pilots in Programme 3 at the World Aerobatic Championships now in progress in Chateauroux, France. The US Team pilots will fly sequence "J". Altogether, 14 sequences were submitted by the teams but in the end, only 7 are being used by the pilots. Read moreThe US Unlimited Aerobatic Team is now in place in Albert, France and they pose here with their aircraft in a photo taken this evening, Monday, August 3rd, after what was undoubtedly a long day. Some of the airplanes made the long journey across the Atlantic in a container or were sent over onboard cargo aircraft. Three of the team airplanes have arrived by container -- Goody's Extra 330SC, Jeff's Extra 330SC, and Brett's MX. They are now being assembled in Albert, where the team will practice over the next couple of weeks before proceeding to the WAC contest site in Chateauroux.
