2025 Rules Proposals - Deadline August 31

Rule change proposals are received in different forms, which can make it challenging to interpret what the submitter wanted to offer. This year, it was found that the proposal 2025-1 we published was quite different from what the submitter intended. Since we want the input to be fairly evaluated as it was meant to suggested, we are now are now publishing the corrected version for review and feedback to all members. As for the other proposals, we would appreciate input on:
a) Do you support the proposed change concept or not, and
b) Any suggestions and comments that you believe would be helpful toward decisions on whether to approve and/or modify them to be acceptable.

Feedback must be received within the 30-day comment period. Deadline, for proposal 2025-1 only, is September 20. Comments on the other proposals are still due by August 31 - We truly appreciate those we've already received. The Rules Committee will review the submittals and your comments, then present their recommendations during the IAC Board of Directors Fall Board meeting. Thanks for your support!

The submission deadline for IAC members to propose changes to the IAC Official Contest Rules for the 2024 contest season was July 1st. These proposals have now been compiled. A total of 18 proposals from the membership were received. Attached to the bottom of this page is a PDF with all of the rule proposals for review. Although organized some to assist with evaluation of similar inputs, these are generally listed in the order received.
Our thanks to our members who submitted their ideas to improve the IAC rules and our competitions. All members are now encouraged to review the proposals and provide feedback.
You can address any or all, at your preference, but make sure to reference the Proposal Number on each so we know what you are commenting on. In general, we would appreciate input on:
