2021 Sport Aerobatics publication schedule change

The 2021 Sport Aerobatics publication schedule of six annual issues will start with a January/February issue. Meanwhile, our In the Loop e-newsletter publication schedule will remain monthly with expanded content. If you haven't subscribed to In the Loop you can do so here with your EAA login: LINK.  Additional articles, photos, videos and news items will be posted to iac.org and the IAC’s social media accounts.

As we are all painfully aware, in 2020, COVID-19 has affected governments, businesses, organizations and households. The coronavirus has not left our International Aerobatic Club unscathed, either. Out of 29 scheduled aerobatic contests in 2020, only 8 were actually held. We are all aware of the 2020 cancelations of the EAA’s AirVenture and the IAC’s US Nationals.

Due to these cancelations and reductions, the IAC has experienced an unexpected budget shortfall. Luckily, the IACers who came before us left us with sufficient rainy day savings to get us by, but we have to curtail our spending until we see what tomorrow brings. The IAC board of directors scoured the budget and determined the best way to cut expenses is to publish our magazine every other month.  This is a big change for us but the time is right. In the Loop already reaches more people than Sport Aerobatics and we believe we can improve our online reach even further with the resources we are freeing up.

All printed issues of Sport Aerobatics can be found on the IAC website: www.iac.org/magazines. Member login required to access magazines published in 2020. Earlier years are accessible without a member login.
