US Nationals -- Practice Update

For those of you attending the Nationals and wanting to practice on the days prior ...

The waiver for practice has just recently been received from the FSDO.  A 10-day temporary waiver that takes us up through the 19th of September has been granted.  The permanent APA that has been in place at the North Texas Regional Airport (KGYI) for some time was also renewed on September 11th.  It had expired at the end of August.  All is in place for pilots to practice on the contest site from this day forward. .

Please note that the US Nationals waiver takes effect on Saturday, September 20th.  Gray Brandt, our Contest Director, and Casey Erickson, Assistant Contest Director, along with Starter Gary DeBaun will be on hand Saturday, setting up for the event.  Gary will be our boxmaster on Saturday in addition to tech'ing airplanes.

Please note something different this year.  All aircraft must be tech'ed before you can practice on Saturday, the 20th.  See Gary or one of the tech inspectors upon your arrival at KGYI to get this done.  You must also sign the waiver before practicing.

All of our officials are doing an outstanding job in making this one of the best Nationals and there will be frequent updates on this website so visit www.iac.org frequently.  We also have a large number of pre-registrations and are anticipating one of the largest Nationals ever!
