Congratulations to TEAM USA! Bronze Winners at WAAC 2023!

The highest scoring US pilots; Brittanee Lincoln, Kyle Collins and Mike Ciliberti pictured with team manager Alice Johnson) flew to a third-place finish with a very tight overall score of 75.119% behind the second-place Romanian team's score of 75.744%.
The World Advanced Aerobatic Championships took place October 25th through November 3rd at the Jean Airport in Nevada.
Check out the US Advanced team's robust Facebook page of their experience:  https://www.facebook.com/usaadvancedaerobaticteam

The battle was hard fought and three teams; USA, France and Romania were consistently in top position with very little points separating them. Team USA came out strong in the first flight with Brittanee Lincoln landing in first place with 11 competitors flying before the strong winds called a halt to further competition.

The pilots had to stand down for 2 1/2 days as the wind continued to be out of cross box limits. Once the winds eased and the championship continued the French team began to dominate the top three positions with the Romanians close behind.

By the time the final flight was flown it was anyone's guess whether the USA or Romanian would end up in second place.  As was event by the final score of USA 75.119% and Romania 75.744% the podium finish was a squeaker.
