January 2025 - N8L - first homebuilt Pitts S-1C, 1963  

Pat Ledford, a local Florida friend of Curtis Pitts, volunteered to build the airplane from what few drawings existed, with Curtis looking over his shoulder filling in the blank spots. At the same time parts were being made; Curtis did the drawings.

December 2024 - Krier Kraft and the Great Lakes Special

The Krier Kraft (foreground Tail number N5400E) and the Great Lakes Special (Tail number N21E) belonged to Harold Krier and now sit companionably at the Pioneer-Krier Museum in Ashland, Kansas.

November 2024 - Takacs Super Pitts - N271EX

This Pitts Special sporting a 200 hp Lycoming io-360 series (4 cycle) engine is operated by John Paul Takacs, who is a math teacher. The paint scheme on his plane, which he built with help from others, is mathematically inspired by projective geometry, trigonometry, and the Fibonacci sequence.

October 2024 - Extra 300L C-GXRA
This Extra is based at Harv's Air in Manitoba, Canada. Home to the 2023 Canadian Advanced Aerobatic Team captain, Luke Penner, can be found using the aircraft to teach his students Upset Training and Aerobatics.

Steve “Flight Chops” Thorne is the proud owner/builder of this Van’s RV-14. The plane has the EXP-119 Thunderbolt version of the Lycoming IO-390 and is powered by a Hartzell three-bladed aluminum Raptor hub with carbon-fiber scimitar blades.

May 2024 - MDM1 - Fox Aerobatic Glider
The MDM-1 Fox is a Polish, composite mid-wing two-seater. It is certified in the Aerobatic Category rated to +9/-6g (single) and +7/-5g (duo).

The four MDM-1 Fox gliders sit companionably at the Estrella Sailport (E68) during the Estrella Glider Classic and U.S. National Advanced and Unlimited Aerobatic Glider Championships.

April 2024 - Pitts Special S1-11B, Super Stinker
This plane was flown by Darrell Whittaker, representing the Australian Team at the 2023 World Advanced Aerobatic Championship in Jean, Nevada. The plane was previously owned by IAC member Mike Wiscus, who flew it at the 2004 World Advanced Aerobatics Championship in Sweden.
