IAC Chapter Camping - Make new friends and have a blast!
AirVenture is fun no matter where you stay; however, the fun is doubled when old and newfound friends share space in Camp Scholler. If you haven't experienced it yet, this is your year!
The EAA has run a Chapter Camping program for decades and continues to offer this special opportunity, which allows for camaraderie, fellowship, and the establishment of a "beachhead" base for activities. The IAC chapters have been involved for the last 5 years with this program, and it has been a wonderful time for all involved. Many of our IAC chapters have participated included, but not limited to: IAC 1, 12, 34, 52, 61, 88, 139.
-
Chapters can reserve three to six campsites for chapter members.
-
All participating chapter locations are staked out by EAA staff volunteers in advance of arrival.
-
Chapters can occupy campsites as early as July 11, 2026.
-
Campers arriving on July 11th will take full advantage of the seven days of free camping built in as part of this program.
Dates to remember:
-
March, 2026 - Program details and a new planning document is available

July 11, 2026 - Chapter Camping move-in begins.
- Chapter members having complimentary camping may be attached to paid chapter group camping sites. (You were a volunteer last year with 40 hours and received free camping.)
- $378 per site, nonrefundable, nontransferable to others, on-time payment only.
- Chapters will be staked out as close to the desired location as possible. No guarantees due to the high demand for the same real estate. So, the sooner the IAC Chapters submit payment, the more prime campsite locations can be acquired.
- Allowed Camping Unit Type per participant: Tent, RV, or Fifth Wheel
- Camping participants may have no more than 6 people on their site.
- Each Camping participant is allowed to have one vehicle: Car, SUV, Truck, or Full-size Truck

How to be a part of the IAC chapter camping:
- Select one person from your chapter camping group to take the Lead.
- The chapter Lead contacts Lorrie Penner penn.lorrie@gmail.com for the IAC requested camping location(s) to coordinate your chapter's location, which will be situated next to all the other IAC chapter campers.
- The chapter Lead will collect information from all of the campers (including EAA number) and fill out the registration starting on May 1, 2026. (This form asks for the cross streets for the requested IAC camping location(s).
- The lead organizes money collection and payment to EAA.
Best Practices tip - go through your chapter treasurer to collect everyone's payments and send one payment for the group through your chapter. - The chapter Lead should plan to be on-site to assist with campers picking up their credentials or assign a person to perform this duty.
Best Practices tip - make sure everyone has exchanged phone numbers from within your group. It makes it easier to contact the lead when you are about 15 minutes away, so they can meet you at the Camp Scholler check-in for credential pick-up.
