We’re anxious to host our fifth contest as part of the Mid-America Series.
Marquette is not as far away as you may think, see the "Distance to Contest" picture below as well as the "Lower Harbor" picture. It's a beautiful area to enjoy from the air.
Our community is ready with free hangar, discounted fuel, dealer loaner cars, extremely supportive tower and airport management, amazing FBO support, media coverage, and more.
For our Canadian friends, although SAW used to be named "International", now renamed Marquette/Sawyer Regional, Customs is not available, please don't let that deter you.
Transportation: We will have dealer loaner cars plus other local transportation. Those desiring to rent a vehicle can do so through
Accommodations: We have selected the Model Towne Inn in Gwinn, Michigan, approximately 5 miles SSW from the contest sight. It’s owned/operated by a local couple; basic, clean and comfortable. Make reservations by phone at 906-265-8152
Some have considered camping or cabins. There are numerous locations in the area, Google search or contact me for suggestions.
And....we have several local families that have volunteered to "home host" and provide transportation. Some are aviation related families and would enjoy hearing your aerobatic stories, some are lakefront homes. Let us know if you would like to experience some Yooper Hospitality, we’ll arrange it. Many have enjoyed it previously.
The box will be open all day Friday, August 28, for practice.
