27 June Update.  Please ignore the previously posted 15 June update.  We have secured hangar space for the contest.  Now, back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Great news aerobatic enthusiasts, Hammers Over Hondo 2024 is a go!  Chapter 107 is again hosting our contest at Hondo, Texas (KHDO). 

For those of you who participated in 2022 and/or 2023, the outstandingly well defined box will remain unchanged!  For those of you who didn't participate, where were you?

I will update this page periodically as Andrea lines up sponsors for the event.  I would anticipate lots of outstanding raffle items again this year.

Practice and registration will be on Thursday, 12 September 2024.

Contest flying will be on Friday, 13 September 2024 (all day) and Saturday, 14 September 2024 (hopefully complete by early afternoon so folks can fly home if desired).

Back-up/rain day is Sunday, 15 September 2024.

Intermediate and Advanced pilots please bring 5 copies of your Form A and 10 each of your B and C forms for your Free.  Sportsman competitors please double these numbers.

We will keep you well fed.  Plan on Pizza on Thursday night after practice, Subway for lunch on Friday and BBQ for dinner on Friday.  All will be catered at the FBO.

While not requiring pre-registration I would still ask you to pre-register or contact me so we have a good base of information to plan with.  Thanks in advance!

Hondo offers plenty of accommodations.  While there is no official contest hotel, the local options are affordable and convenient.  A quick perusal of several websites revealed the following options (in no particular order):

There are many other Hill Country B&B options to look at as well.

Please do your research and choose the option that's best for you.

And yes, we will still have cookies! Many pilots have reported that the main reason they make it to our contest is the cookies.  They are that good.
