U.S. National Aerobatic Championships Underway

Yesterday was the beginning of the 2017 U.S. National Aerobatic Championships in Oshkosh, Wisconsin with Opening Ceremonies at the EAA Aviation Museum and the first flights in the afternoon of the Advanced category. Altogether, 89 pilots are registered and flying in the event with the largest category being Advanced Power with 25 pilots. Selection of a U.S. Advanced Aerobatic Team is underway this week with 8 pilots to be selected to compete in the World Championships in that category next summer in Romania.

Participants were welcomed to the city by Mayor Steve Cummings with the colors posted by cadets of the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.
