Regional Contest Awards / Medallions

    Grass Roots Achievement Flight Medal
Sporting the image of J.G. "Tex" Rankin, a pioneer in aerobatics at the grassroots level, the International Aerobatic Club's "Grass Roots Achievement" Flight Medal acknowledges the IAC's commitment to grassroots development of the sport.  Sponsored by Textron Lycoming, the Grass Roots medallion is awarded to the highest scoring pilot in any category, measured in overall percentage, flying an aircraft with 180 hp or less, or more than 180 hp if the 75% cruise speed is less than 125 mph, at any regional contest.

    Regional Medallions
Gold, silver and bronze medallions may be awarded to first, second, and third place winners of each category of flight flown at regional contests.
